“Dusk Patrol 808” is a tribute to the indescribable magical moments out on the water, especially the sunset sessions in Hawai’i.  This is an attempt to translate the experience and journey of learning to walk on water and the awe felt witnessing the grace and skill of the talented surfers in Hawaii.

This series represents a humble surfer girl’s dreams of nose-riding, barrels, and big wave riding, as well as appreciation of those still moments in time between sets watching the light, colors and reflection of the sky dancing on the water.

About the Artist:

Andrea "Andee" Cesarek

A considerably better painter than surfer, but equally passionate about both, Andrea moved to Kauaʻi from Detroit in 2017 and quickly fell in love with surfing.  Unimpressed with the lack of selection of art and decor featuring female surfers in action shots and barrels, she was inspired to paint art that celebrates the courage, dedication, and grace of surfers who continually seek to push their boundaries.

A real "Renaissance woman", Andrea also holds a Masters in Nutrition Science, is a licensed massage therapist, professional photographer, event planner, filmmaker, and certified yoga instructor.  She is in the process of obtaining her Registered Dietitian License and setting up a Holistic Nutrition and Wellness Practice based in Kauaʻi.
